Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers
Developed over the past 48 years, high quality Vitherm gasketed plate heat exchangers are designed with easy access for regular servicing and for a long, low-maintenance lifetime with low life-cycle costs. Vitherm Plate Heat Exchangers are world renowned as robust and reliable units, which are trusted by thousands of customers globally.
Vitherm Plate Heat Exchangers consist of a pack of corrugated metal plates with various configurations of holes which allow two fluids to pass between the plates and allow heat transfer to take place. A place pack is securely positioned between and fixed and movable frame plate and compressed by tightening bolts on either side of the frame. Gaskets ensure that the plates are sealed tightly together, and both the gasket and plate material are chosen based on each and every requirement.
The number of plates is determined by the flow rate, physical properties of the fluids, pressure drop and temperature of the application. The corrugations on the plates are also determined by the particular application, promote fluid turbulence and reinforce the plates against differential pressure between the fluid mediums.
Vitherm Plate Heat Exchangers can be manufactured in variety of steel types, with a variety of port and connection configurations. The table below/right/left highlights our standard range of plate heat exchanger sixes.
Design pressure: Vacuum / 20-25 barg
Design Temperature: 20°C / 180°C
Weldpack® welded plate heat exchanger is a compact solution designed to work in high operating pressures, and high or low operating temperatures.
The Weldpack® is a breakthrough in Heat Exchanger Technology, is fully developed and patented by VITherm, and is manufactured in a state of the art facility in Grenoble, France.
Weldpack® offers significant savings on space due to its revolutionary design. Minimum are of 240m² to maximum area of 1,270m².
Excels Under Pressure
Weldpack® can operate from full vacuum (FV) to up t0 32barg depending on model, and can operate from -40°C up to 350°C.
Material for Every Application
The Weldpack® can be manufactured using a wide variety of alloys including:
Specially designed corrugated plates promote very high turbulence which allows up to five greater heat transfer efficiency when compared to shell and tube heat exchangers. The plates are designed to minimize fouling which in turn significantly reduces maintenance needs.
Close temperature Approach
The Weldpack® can handle temperature approaches as low as 3°C
The Weldpack® has a number of advantages over traditional heat exchangers:
The Weldpack®can be manufactured in a variety of configurations depending on customer requirements:
